Rider Rings

Rider rings are non-metallic rings that support and align the piston. They provide a better-wearing and easily renewable piston bearing surface. Common rider ring styles are presented below. Contact your T.F. Hudgins representative for more information and engineering assistance with your application.

100-N Rider Rings

A 100-N is a basic, uncut rider ring that includes side notches to relieve pressure loading under the rider. Face flutes can also be added to further improve gas flow.

100-FFN Rider Rings

The 100-FFN incorporates the same design as a 100-N rider ring, plus face flutes to further improve gas flow.

150-N Rider Rings

A 150-type rider ring has a single angle cut to facilitate installation without stretching the rider ring over the piston.

150-FFN Rider Rings

A 150-FFN ring incorpoates the same design as a 150-N rider ring, plus face flutes to further improve gas flow.

250-N Rider Rings

The 250-type rider ring is a segmented rider to allow installation when the ring is made from a stiff material.

250-FFN Rider Rings
